I miss those I love-
My objective for this day is to help my pastor by researching session meetings in the church's past. I am to find mission statements that he can use as examples in his meetings next week. I am reading through meetings from the late 19th century... yeah, pretty sweet. I carefully scanned a couple pages for yous

Today I will soon eat another microwaved meal, although this time I bought a couple avocados and some wierd salad to accompany it.
Lately I drink more tea than coffee. The person I spend the most time with is Jong Bae Kong, 37, my new korean roommate. He is freshly eastern, and has been struggling with this western individually driven culture. Yesterday we saw memoirs of a geisha together, in which he fell asleep twice. I like him. He is considering leaving this place because of its challenges, but I am trying to convince him to stay. I told him that I had lived with a South Korean in a similar space in high school and he responded that it was destiny for us to be roommates. I did not disagree. He wants us to do everything together and share what we own. It makes so much sense but I find myself hesitating.
This lifestyle seems to be more of what we were made to do. Its enticing, but not really glamorous. It seems to stand in direct contradiction to this propel-yourself-forward ideal I sensed in the states and here in Dublin, characterized by one company's marketing line on billboards all over this city, "Always settle for more."

Kong in Ireland
The dart is better than the tube because the irish are friendlier and more talkative, I'd say. Its not as efficient though, and doesn't spread its veins as completely as the London Underground does.
