pinhole love

A train.jpg the welcoming party.jpg sexy bike.jpg the unloved lover.jpg

I made a pinhole camera following some online instructions. I was delighted by the results. I have become enchanted by low quality, grainy, color saturated images...
Who needs a girlfriend, I have photography.

I put up these images on my flickr page,

July in NY

July begins with short waves of heat and life here starting to feel a little more routine. They say it takes a year to get used to New York. I wonder if I'll still be here in a year... Our apt. is messy, but people still stay there occasionally.
4th of July crept up on me. I'm glad its not as hyped as Christmas. Arod, Kj and I had chicken enchiladas in our apt. shared a beer with the neighbor, Tony (whom I hadn't seen till now), and watched fireworks from our fire escape with Hayden Hill and her friend Bonnie.
As far as finances go, this is the first time since I've been here, that I've had a little extra cash. I bought some stuff to make a pinhole camera, and some nike talaria's. I think I can start paying off some debts too. Yeah!
The talaria's I broke in last night, and somebody broke me with a cheap foul about 70 minutes into a 90 minute game. I received what some call a "stinger." I fell straight onto my shoulder and it felt kind of like my other shoulder felt post-dislocation from rugby a couple years ago. Its pretty sore now, and I'm wearing a make-shift brace. I asked a woman for ice, she asked if i wanted an ambulance, I laughed because I don't have health insurance (please don't write and tell me the importance of health insurance).

Summer is full of free concerts and fun. It makes us happy

Furnaces review

The fiery furnaces rocked Studio B with force and stern faces. Standing just beneath the stage, in front of a large speaker, I was steadily engaged by the snappy rhythms and repetitive guitar riffs. I have no Idea what was going on over at the organ, but it was amazing. Eleanor blended a little too much into the music, I could only make out her authoritative rhymy sentences when her voice was alone in the air. Her demeanor was commanding, her face serious, her outfit funky. There hip disjointed sound fit nicely in the space, and I was pretty satisfied with the music. I do wish they would engage the crowd more, but if that's not their style, than its not their style.
